Hi Coaches,

The age coordinators were to check if all the coaches were receiving these emails so hopefully all coaches are getting this. If you run across a coach that is not getting them please get them to talk to their age coordinator and register as a coach.

Couple of things – firstly we now have some coaches’ shirts in stock with “Coach” on the back, we also have Basketball shorts with pockets. We believe Rockets coaches need to look professional and recognisable so shirts and short will cost you nothing, please tell me if you need anything as we don't have 100's of them. The Winter gear will cost you if you want that - jackets, hoodies etc

Secondly we are organising some training over the holidays for the kids.

What we are planning - We are doing an hour and a half session twice a week for all age groups & doing it in both weeks, some age groups at Runcorn State High & some at MacGregor State schools both are outdoor courts., sessions listed below.

Steve Edwards from SouthWest has said he will help and Sidney Mines will help in the second week.

Both will be helping with training and supporting the coaches. We are asking what times you would be available over the school holidays to help the kids. We think this will be great for the kids to get a kick start to the season (training) when it starts again on 13^th July, first games 17/18^th July.

U8 – if you are 7 years old or younger this year – MacGregor State School on Monday and Wednesday 12.30 -2pm (29^th Jun, 1^st July, 6^th July, 8^th July)

U10 –are 8 or 9 this year - MacGregor State School on Monday and Wednesday 2.30 pm -4pm (29^th Jun, 1^st July, 6^th July, 8^th July)

U12 - are 10 or 11 this year – Runcorn State High School on Monday and Wednesday 9am -10.30 am (29^th Jun, 1^st July, 6^th July, 8^th July)

U14 - 12 or 13 this year - Runcorn State High School on Tuesday and Thursday 9am - 10.30am (30^th June, 2^nd July, 7^th July, 9^th July)

U16- are 14 or 15 this year – Runcorn State High School on Tuesday and Thursday 11am -12.30 pm (30^th June, 2^nd July, 7^th July, 9^th July)

U18- 16 or older this year – Runcorn State High School on Tuesday and Thursday 1 pm - 2.30 pm (30^th June, 2^nd July, 7^th July, 9^th July)

Could you send me an email, text or ring by Monday or as soon as possible if you are interested, if we don't get enough coaches I will then try to get other coaches & if this is not possible we will just have to cancel those age groups where we cannot get coaches. Prior to the day we will send something out on how things will run, ideas on drills etc

Each session will be $10 for each child & if they do all 4 session it will be $30. We will be giving all the coaches something to show our appreciation and coaches’ children are free.

Someone asked me why it is not free for everyone as we did not play all our games in term 1. There are several reasons but mainly because not everyone will be available during the school holidays & we have to be fair to everyone.

Once we know how many games Southwest have organised in term 4 we can then work out the price taking into account the games not played in term 1 and that is fair for all and easy to manage.
