Hi All

This will be a last week of rest before we start training on Monday 11th July.

This coming week

Towards the end of the week, you will get the name of your coach and the time and location of your training.

There are 3 weeks of trials so there may be some movement of players and teams in different divisions. We won’t know your team number until it we receive that information from Southwest Metro and will put it on the Team App and notify you of it.

If you are “train only’ you will be notified of the team you train with, if you are U7 or U9 we do “station training” as you need to completely understand how to do the basic before you are truly able to undertake more complex drills. Under 7 and Under 9 will train once a week on either Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

Coaching

Coaching your children’s sport or assisting in your children sport becomes an incredible bonding experience between both parents and children. If you have the time, it is wonderful when parents are involved.

All Coaches will receive a coaching booklet and we will have either the age coordinator or Deola or one of his coaches to come and walk you through the process and help you. You do not have to be an expert at anything, we will help you and supply all the support that you require or need.

All you need is a little bit of time, enthusiasm, and reasonable communication skills.

For those children playing U17 or older, coaching is a great way to learn communication skills and learn to give back to the community.

To play games

To play games it is compulsory to wear rocket shorts. If you get the opportunity, you can get them next week from Eight Mile Plains.

Holiday camps

Attached are links to holiday camps for Sydney Mines and the Brisbane Bullets. Sidney will have his at Runcorn State High School and the Bullets are having theirs at Calamvale Community College school.

The Bullets is for mostly younger children aged between 5-11 years old where Sidney’s camps include older children.
